BIRA’s Communities of Practice bring together enterprises, technical partners, funders, and other market actors to strengthen the wider ecosystem around nature investment in Africa.

They are designed to turn isolated organisations into stronger markets: sharing intelligence, surfacing practical lessons, building relationships, and addressing common bottlenecks across priority focus areas. In addition to our focus areas, we also run a community of practice focused on the Congo Basin.

The Communities of Practice have met and shared learnings with experts, funders, and amongst themselves on topics ranging from developing scalable nature-positive business models to understanding funder requirements through engagement with our Funders Circle. These learnings have influenced activities and approaches adopted by members of the community.
